Commander of Regional Division #10, Superintendent Guy Nurse led a Police outreach team today in the Wisroc Station District where they met and interacted with residents in an effort to address issues and concerns that they might be faced with.

Commander Nurse, along with Assistant Superintendent Bacon, Officer-in-Charge of Crime, Division #10; Inspector Chand, Officer-in-Charge of #2 Sub Division Region #10; Inspector L. Barkoye, Community Relations Inspector for Region #10; and other ranks, visited the Wisroc Health Centre, where they had an interactive session with the nurse on duty about the security aspect at the Health Centre. Discussions also focussed on putting together a First Aid Training to target Police ranks stationed at the Wisroc Police Outpost as this can positively impact their social development.
Commander Nurse and his team then met and interacted with business proprietors and other residents in the Wisroc community, where they all welcomed the visit and spoke well about the Police being frequent in the said area. Residents lauded the Commander and his team for the community outreach initiative.
Commander Nurse also gave his contact number to residents with whom he interacted and assured them that the Guyana Police Force is committed to forging partnership and building capacity within Region #10 through Community Oriented Policing.
This, he noted, involves the formation of youth groups, which will allow members to participate in recreational and educational activities with the Police. It also entails regular community meetings with a projection to mitigate crimes so that residents within Region #10 will feel more safe and secure.
