Tragic Discovery: Investigation Underway in Alleged Murder at Sunset Hotel

Police are currently investigating the alleged murder of 32-year-old Romona Lall, a woman from Lot 1503 Kilcoy Chesney, Corentyne, Berbice. The incident occurred between 17:50 hrs yesterday and 12:15 hrs today at Sunset Hotel in Kitty, Georgetown.
According to Khersattie Bettencort, the hotel proprietor, the victim and a male companion entered the hotel around 17:55 hrs yesterday, booking a room on the first floor. They were expected to check out at 12:00 hrs today. However, at 20:07 hrs last night, the male companion exited the room alone and left the hotel.
This morning at about 07:00 hrs, the receptionist noticed the victim had not checked out and found her lying motionless on the floor, naked, in Room 4. The police were called immediately.
Upon examination, the victim had one stab wound to the left side of the chest with a broken Guinness bottle head, abrasions to the lower abdomen, and three stab wounds to her back. The scene showed a broken Guinness bottle and a 592 beer bottle on the floor, with apparent bloodstains on the bed and walls.
CCTV footage from the building captured the victim and the male suspect entering and the male leaving. The body is currently awaiting a post-mortem examination at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
