Tragic Collision Claims Life: Fatal Incident Involving Aurora Gold Mines Trucks Under Investigation.

In a devastating incident at Aurora Gold Mines, a fatal collision occurred around 10:20 hrs this morning, involving two motor lorries owned by the mining company. The vehicles, TL-001 and TL-19, were driven by Joseph Licorish, 47, from West Watooka, Wismar Linden (now-deceased), and Nigel Denny, 41, from Georgetown, respectively.
Preliminary investigations reveal that motor lorry TL-001, loaded with stones, was descending a hill in the northern direction near an open mining pit area. Simultaneously, motor lorry TL-19, also laden with stones, was ascending the hill around a slight bend. The collision occurred as TL-001, driven by Licorish, allegedly approached TL-19 at a high speed, swerving into its lane.
According to the account provided by the driver of TL-19, he attempted to avoid the collision by pulling to the left. However, due to the short distance between the vehicles, the front portions collided, causing TL-19 to flip onto its left side. The impact dislodged the entire cabin of TL-001, pinning Licorish inside.
Fellow workers rushed to the scene, extracting Licorish from the wreckage and transporting him, along with Denny, to the Aurora Health Center. On-site medical attention by a doctor pronounced Licorish dead on arrival. Denny, treated for head and body injuries, is in stable condition. Both individuals were subsequently transferred to Georgetown.
As investigations unfold, authorities will review and analyze CCTV footage from cameras mounted on a nearby tower to gain further insights into the tragic incident involving the Aurora Gold Mines trucks.
