Tragic Accident Claims Life: 63-Year-Old Pedestrian Crushed by Reversing Truck in Timehri

In a devastating incident, 63-year-old Arnold De Santos lost his life when he was struck by a reversing truck at Madewini, Timehri last night. According to police reports, the tragic event occurred as the lorry was reversing south along the eastern side of the Farm Track access road at a high speed, colliding with De Santos, who was walking on the same side of the road.
The collision resulted in the rear right-side wheel of the lorry rolling over the pedestrian, causing severe injuries to his head and body. De Santos, found unconscious at the scene, was promptly transported to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre. Despite the efforts of the attending doctor, he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The body has been moved to the Memorial Funeral Home, where it awaits a post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, the lorry driver, responsible for the tragic incident, has been apprehended and is currently in custody, cooperating with authorities in their ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate accident.
