On the 29th of August 2023, officials from Regional Police Division 4’C’, including Deputy Superintendent Dufu, Asp Primus, Inspector Roop, Insp Samuels, along with personnel from the Mahaica Police Station and Pastor M. Sharma of the Cops and Faith Community Network, paid visits to the residences of the late Elijah Pellew and Raymond Rouse. Both individuals tragically lost their lives in a fatal accident on Saturday, the 26th of August 2023, at the Unity Public Road, East Coast Demerara.
During these visits, Deputy Superintendent Dufu conveyed sincere condolences on behalf of the Commissioner of Police to the grieving family members. He assured them that a comprehensive investigation into the unfortunate accident is currently underway. The aim of the visit was to extend support and provide assurance that the incident is receiving the utmost attention.
The bereaved family members expressed gratitude for the visit from the police officials and Pastor Sharma. They found solace in the kind words, comfort, and prayers offered during this exceptionally challenging period of grief and mourning. The outreach from the police and faith community was deeply appreciated by the grieving families.
