Police Investigate Fire of Unknown Origin in West Coast Berbice

Authorities are investigating a fire of unknown origin that occurred around 18:00 hrs on Tuesday in Number 12 Village, West Coast Berbice. The blaze resulted in the complete destruction of the residence belonging to 58-year-old Sukwanttie Ramnarine, a Bourda market vendor.
The affected structure, a two-storey wooden and concrete building measuring approximately 30 feet in length and 20 feet in width, was the family home. Fortunately, no occupants were present during the incident. The house, which relied on electricity from GPL, was not insured.

As investigations continue, authorities are working to determine the cause that led to the loss of the Ramnarine family home.
