Former Police Detective Corporal Found Deceased at Golden Grove Residence

In a somber discovery, the lifeless body of 63-year-old Floyde Ross, a retired Detective Corporal of the Guyana Police Force, was found in a state of decomposition at his residence in 863 Block Y Golden Grove, East Bank Demerara. The unfortunate incident unfolded on Wednesday around 14:39 hrs.

Floyd Ross Jr. noticed a stench coming from the home and went to find his father, Ross, who was living alone in the lower flat of a two-story wooden and concrete house. The son, residing in Plaisance, East Coast Demerara, reported the situation to the police.

According to Lemuel Ross, the last telephonic conversation with his father occurred on November 10, 2023, at around 10:00 hr, during which Floyde Ross Sr. seemed to be in good health. On November 15, 2023, Floyd Ross Jr. noticed the unpleasant smell during a visit and quickly took action, which led to the tragic discovery.

Upon gaining entry into the residence, the police found Floyde Ross Sr.’s lifeless body lying face-up on his bed, dressed in boxer pants. The preliminary findings suggest that the cause of death was attributed to high blood pressure and ruptured blood vessels in the heart.

The Guyana Police Force extends condolences to the family and friends of the late Detective Corporal Floyde Ross during this difficult time.
