In a recent operation, police officers from Regional Division 4’C’ acted on received information and conducted a search at a shop owned by a 41-year-old woman situated on the Annandale Railway Embankment, East Coast Demerara.

During the search, the officers made a significant discovery under the shop’s counter – one bulky transparent plastic wrap alongside a black and pink plastic bag. Upon opening these containers, they found a substantial quantity of leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis (marijuana). The total weight of the cannabis haul amounted to a remarkable 288.7 grams.
The female shop owner was cautioned and subsequently arrested for her alleged involvement in the offense. She was then escorted to the Vigilance Police Station, where she has been placed in custody and is expected to face charges related to the possession of a significant quantity of marijuana.
This incident highlights the commitment of law enforcement to address illegal drug activities in the region.
