Suspect Apprehended GPF | Authorities are currently investigating an alleged assault on a 37-year-old mechanic from Enmore. The incident occurred on August 26, 2023, around 11:45 p.m., at 18th Street Foulis, ECD.
According to preliminary findings, at approximately 11:00 PM on the mentioned date, Chetam Tomby, a 37-year-old, was attending a wedding celebration with friends at 18th Street Foulis. While partaking in the festivities, a heated argument arose between Tomby and another individual (whose name has not been disclosed), escalating into a physical confrontation.

During the altercation, Tomby reportedly armed himself with a beer bottle, striking the other party on the shoulder, resulting in injuries. Responding to this, an identifiable man, associated with the other individual, confronted Tomby. Employing a beer bottle as a weapon, the assailant subjected Tomby to multiple blows on his face, causing him facial injuries.
The individual responsible for the attack swiftly left the scene. Following the incident, Chetam Tomby promptly reported the matter to the Enmore Police Station. Both Tomby and the other party involved in the initial altercation sought medical treatment for their injuries.
Subsequently, law enforcement succeeded in apprehending the suspect, who is currently in police custody. The individual is cooperating with authorities as they continue their inquiry into the incident.
