Enhancement of Pedestrian Crossing Signs in New Amsterdam

News Update

A dedicated effort led by Assistant Superintendent Hooke, Sergeant Wood, and a team of committed Traffic ranks from the Central Police Station in Berbice resulted in the revitalization of numerous Pedestrian Crossing signs last week within Regional Police Division #6.

This rejuvenation initiative focused primarily on the township of New Amsterdam, where the team worked diligently to repaint and renew the visibility of Pedestrian Crossing signs. Amidst this endeavor, the Mayor of New Amsterdam, Mr. Wainwright McIntosh, a prominent figure within the Region’s Road Safety Council, graced the exercise with his presence.

The collaborative initiative, executed by law enforcement personnel and community leaders, underscores a proactive approach to bolstering road safety.

The repainted Pedestrian Crossing signs stand as visible reminders of the shared commitment to safeguarding pedestrians and ensuring safe passage across roadways in New Amsterdam.
