In recognition of their exceptional achievements in this year’s National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA), a total of 138 children of Police Officers and Ranks were honored on Tuesday, August 29, 2023. The special Awards Ceremony took place at the Guyana Police Force Officers’ Mess Annex, located at Eve Leary.
The event commenced with opening remarks from Deputy Commissioner ‘Administration’, Mr. Calvin Brutus, who warmly congratulated the awardees for their remarkable performance in the NGSA examinations. Mr. Brutus expressed his admiration for the recipients’ accomplishments and highlighted the significance of their achievements, not just as academic milestones, but as reflections of their potential to shape the future.



Addressing the young awardees, Mr. Brutus remarked, “This milestone not only marks your academic achievement but also your potential to shape the future, as you all are the future of tomorrow.”
Several students stood out as top performers in the examinations. Noteworthy achievers included Savanna McIntosh, who obtained an impressive score of 505.8 marks, followed closely by Shamaine McKenzie with 504.9, Kaylee Dharamraj with 502.9, Akeela Martin with 499, and Jonathan Ross with 497.2.
The occasion concluded with heartfelt congratulations extended to all the deserving recipients of the Bursary Awards, recognizing their dedication and hard work in reaching such commendable academic heights.
