In a significant stride towards addressing the pressing issue of Gender-Based Violence, Senior Superintendent Shivpersaud Bacchus, the Regional Commander #6, has assured that his police team in Berbice is poised to collaborate effectively with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and other stakeholders.
The commitment to tackle Gender-Based Violence was highlighted during a recent presentation ceremony held at Saint Francis Community Developers. The event, which took place last Wednesday, revolved around an insightful discussion centered on ‘Gender Based Violence and You.’ Commander Bacchus unequivocally pledged his support to work in partnership with all pertinent NGOs, fostering a united front against violence within our communities.
During the ceremony, representatives from UNICEF demonstrated their commitment by presenting valuable resources to aid local schools and health centers within Region 6. Among the offerings were school supplies, E-Bikes, filing desks, television sets, and printers, all of which are earmarked for enhancing educational and healthcare facilities.
