Peters Hall Resident Faces Charges Over Forced Stripping Incident

Ahmad Ally, a 37-year-old joiner from Peters Hall, East Bank Demerara, has been charged in connection to a disturbing incident involving two Venezuelan nationals. The charges stem from a video circulating on social media, depicting the coercion of the victims to admit theft, followed by an order to strip naked and walk down the road.

Ally was charged with the following offenses:

Two (2) counts of using a computer system to publish the image of a private area of a person, contrary to Section 16(2)(a) of the Cybercrime Act 2018, were committed against Luigi Hernandez and Keilysmar Astudillo, respectively.

Assault Causing Actual Bodily Harm, Contrary to Section 49 of the Criminal Law Offences Act, Chapter 8:01, committed on Keilysmar Astudillo

Assault, Contrary to Section 43 of the Criminal Law Offences Act, Chapter 8:01, was committed on Luigi Hernandez.

Appearing at the Diamond/Golden Grove Magistrate’s Court before Senior Magistrate Sunil Scarce, Ally pleaded not guilty to all charges. He was granted bail with conditions, including $200,000 bail for each cybercrime offense, $40,000 bail for assault causing actual bodily harm, and $20,000 for assault. The cases are set to resume on January 17, 2024.
