Travis Evans, widely known as “Short Boss,” has entered a guilty plea for the murder of legal clerk Gregory Frank, before Demerara High Court Judge Jo Ann Barlow. The 28-year-old defendant is scheduled to return to court on November 28 for sentencing, where probation and other social reports will be presented. Gregory Frank, aged 46, was discovered dead in his Kuru Kururu residence on the Linden-Soesdyke Highway, showing signs of head trauma and evidence of a ransacked home with missing valuables.

An autopsy revealed that Frank died from asphyxiation due to a compression injury to his neck, aggravated by blunt trauma to his head. Evans had previously been sentenced to life imprisonment in April 2021 for the killing of Ronsley Clarke, 21, in August 2018 outside a shop in Sophia, Greater Georgetown.

Originally charged with murder, Evans, called “Short Boss,” opted to plead guilty to the reduced charge of manslaughter, with a minimum of 25 years before parole eligibility. In addition, Evans received a three-year prison term in 2021 after confessing to an armed robbery committed a decade earlier, during which he also faces an accusation of rape.

The armed robbery took place on October 30, 2010, in Demerara, with Evans allegedly wielding a knife while robbing Marlyn Kissoon of $650,500. The trial for the rape charge is pending.
