Saudi Arabia — Guyanese sprint sensation Keliza Smith delivered another strong international performance, capturing the bronze medal in the Women’s 100m final at the Islamic Solidarity Games. Competing at the Prince Faisal Bin Fahad Stadium on Tuesday, Smith clocked 11.59 seconds—just shy of her season-best 11.45—after confidently winning her preliminary heat.

Guyana’s presence continued to grow on the track as national quarter-miler Aaliyah Abrams booked her spot in the Women’s 400m final. Abrams placed third in Heat Two with a time of 53.01 seconds and will contest the medal race from lane eight.

Meanwhile, Guyana’s Men’s 4x100m relay team has also advanced to their final and will compete from lane two as the Games progress.

These performances underscore the rising impact of Guyanese athletes on the global athletics stage, with hopes high for additional podium finishes as the competition unfolds.
