“Celebrating Excellence: Guyana Fire Service Promotions”

The Guyana Fire Service extends its warm congratulations and best wishes to thirty (30) of our dedicated personnel who have recently earned well-deserved promotions. Among these accomplished individuals, we proudly recognize Otis Charles, Kirkland Harry, Clive McDonald, and Carvil Williams, who have ascended to the rank of Divisional Officers.

Further, we acknowledge Cleon Thom-Fernandes and Suresh Persaud for their promotions to Assistant Divisional Officers. Additionally, our hearty congratulations go to Steven Adams, Beuford Clarke, Shannon Crawford, Nigel Gravesande, Dwayne Meredith, Javid Mohamed, Tricia Leander, Lynden Levine, Mark Schmidt, Rovin Thomas, and Ryburn Williams, who have been elevated to the esteemed position of Station Officers.

Meanwhile, it is with equal enthusiasm that we celebrate the advancement of thirteen (13) dedicated individuals to the role of Leading Firefighters. We proudly mention their names: Dexter Miller-Brewster, Joel Mc Cammon, Kelly Ann Mingo, Melicia Moe, Dwayne Noble, Sherwin Nurse, Alana Patterson, Paul Peters, Symeon Petrie, Anil Sookra, Crystal Taylor, Emmanuel Thomas, and Nneka Trotman.

During his brief address, Chief Fire Officer Gregory Wickham urged all promoted personnel to leverage their newfound positions for the betterment of the Fire Service and our nation. He emphasized the importance of leading by example, upholding integrity and discipline, fostering innovative thinking while staying within the bounds of regulations and the Fire Service’s code of conduct.

Chief Wickham also stressed the significance of each individual comprehending their roles, responsibilities, and obligations conferred upon them by both the government and the Fire Service, encouraging them to strive for a positive impact in their new roles.

As the ceremony drew to a close, Chief Wickham offered a heartfelt prayer for the promoted ranks and extended his sincerest wishes for their continued success and dedication to service.
