at Parika junction
Sergeant Narine and Sergeant Johnson met with drivers at the Route 32 Minibus Park at the Parika junction a few days ago and had a candid talk on several traffic-related issues.
Some of the issues raised were:
Maintenance of Motor Vehicles
Fines for driving under the influence and the consequences
Defensive driving
Driving within the speed limit
The 5 C’s
Overloading and loud music in vehicles
Courtesy to passengers
Slow down when visibility is poor
Drivers and Conductors must be tidy while on duty, and their vehicles must be clean inside and outside
Vehicles are to be used for transportation and not racing or speed testing
Need for drivers to look out for elderly persons, children and the ‘differently able’ as they may take some time to cross the road

Exercise caution at pedestrian crossings
The benefits of Defensive driving.
There were about 25 drivers in attendance who welcomed the Police ‘Traffic Lecture’, and the drivers promised to adhere to the Traffic Laws.
