In a brave display of courage, a woman from Lima Housing Scheme, Essequibo Coast, confronted an intruder armed with a cutlass after awakening to find him in her home last night around 7:30 pm. The swift response from the police led to the arrest of the suspect, identified as Clive Layne.
The incident unfolded when the woman secured her home and retired for the night. However, around 7:30 pm, she was awakened by messages on her phone. Upon investigating, she discovered the intruder inside her home, recognizing him as someone familiar from the village for the past two years.
Undeterred, the quick-thinking woman armed herself with a cutlass and confronted the intruder. A struggle ensued, during which the suspect managed to escape after pushing her down. Upon inspecting her home, the woman realized that the intruder had stolen two phones and a quantity of jewelry.
The police responded promptly, launching an investigation that resulted in the arrest of Clive Layne at approximately 3:30 am. Layne was found in possession of one of the stolen phones, complete with its SIM card. He is now in custody and is expected to face court proceedings in the near future.
