A 22-year-old construction worker, Berris Jacobs, residing in Section ‘C’ Nabaclis, East Coast Demerara, found himself facing legal repercussions as he was arrested on November 22, 2023, by a member of the Enmore Police Station. Jacobs was subsequently charged today (Friday) with the offense of Larceny of Cattle, as outlined in Section 176 of the Criminal Law Offences Act, Chapter 8:01.

The accusation stems from an incident on September 26, 2023, when Jacobs allegedly committed the act of cattle theft against Doodnauth Haricharan, a 43-year-old cattle farmer residing in Enmore Pasture, East Coast Demerara.
This morning, at approximately 10:10 hrs, Jacobs appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Vigilance Magistrate Court, where the charge was formally presented. Asserting his innocence, Jacobs pleaded not guilty to the offense. Following the plea, he was granted bail in the amount of $50,000.
