‘Gaza’ Remanded for Unlicensed Possession of Firearm and Ammunition

Thurston Kenrick Williams, also known as ‘Gaza, ‘ a 32-year-old miner residing at 7 Miles Mahdia, found himself facing legal consequences as he was arrested on November 18, 2023. Williams was charged on Tuesday for the unlicensed possession of a firearm and ammunition, specifically one .38 pistol and one live .32 ammunition.

The charges were brought against Williams for the alleged possession of the aforementioned items without the required license. The police made the arrest, and Senior Magistrate Sunil Scarce presided over the subsequent legal proceedings at the Mahdia Magistrate’s Court via Zoom.

During the court appearance, Williams entered pleas of not guilty to both charges. Despite the plea, he was remanded to prison pending further legal processes. The next court date is scheduled for January 16, 2024.
