Horror Unfolds as Accountant Found Brutally Murdered in Mahaica Residence

In a chilling and tragic incident, 38-year-old Chooromanie Tulsie, an accountant residing at Lot 26 Unity Mahaica, East Coast Demerara, was allegedly murdered sometime between 2023-11-21, around 19:30 hours, and 2023-11-22, about 08:00 hours, by an unknown assailant. The gruesome discovery was made at her residence.

According to Cavita Jagarnauth, who visited Tulsie’s home at around 08:00 hours, she found the gate locked and received no response when calling out for Tulsie. Concerned, she noticed Tulsie’s 5-year-old son by a window on the upper floor a few minutes later. With the assistance of people in the area, they broke the lock on the upper floor and safely retrieved the child.

Upon entering the lower flat, a horrifying scene awaited them. Tulsie’s lifeless body was discovered on the ground inside the house, with a piece of cloth forcibly stuffed into her mouth and a knife gruesomely lodged at the center of her throat. The victim was dressed in a multicolored nightdress.

Swiftly, Jagarnauth reported the shocking discovery to the police, who arrived promptly. Notably, no signs of forced entry or breakage were observed around the building. The victim’s body was subsequently conveyed to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, awaiting a postmortem examination.

As the community grapples with the brutality of the crime, investigations into this heinous act are currently underway. Authorities are diligently working to uncover the circumstances surrounding Tulsie’s untimely demise and identify those responsible for this horrifying crime. The shocking nature of the incident has sent shockwaves through the community, prompting a collective call for justice.
